How to Setup Email in Outlook (DirectAdmin Email)
This guide shows you how to set up your DirectAdmin email account in Microsoft Outlook. This allows you to send and receive emails directly from your desktop or mobile device.
Email Settings You’ll Need
Before setting up your email, you’ll need the following details.
Email Address
Your full email address (e.g. info@yourdomain.com).
Password
Your email password.
Incoming Server (IMAP)
mail.yourdomain.com (Port 993, SSL).

Which Server Should You Use?
In most cases, you can use mail.yourdomain.com as your incoming and outgoing mail server.
Standard Setup (Recommended)
Use mail.yourdomain.com for IMAP and SMTP.
This works when your domain is correctly configured.
Alternative: Server Hostname
If mail.yourdomain.com does not work, use your server hostname.
This can be found in your hosting welcome email.
Common Issue: Mail Server Not Connecting
If Outlook cannot connect using mail.yourdomain.com, your DNS may not be set correctly.
- Use your server hostname, or
- Add an A record for "mail" pointing to your server IP
